Sip on this story. An idea built from scratch.

Unfinished wooden desk on wheels in a garage, with tools and glue on top, and bicycle hanging on the wall in the background.

Emily's first job was at a local pizzeria at 15. By 18, she was serving tables at PinToh, working shifts around a full course load. Eem Khao, PinToh's sister restaurant, still holds a special place in her story today.

From there she moved into a full-time corporate career, before leaving to start Kickback Social, a content and social media studio built for founder-led small to mid-sized businesses across the GTA. It found real traction fast: within Kickback Social's first year, Emily and her husband Matt built a coffee cart together on the side.

That cart became Kickback Sips.

Most of our day-to-day now happens on a screen: content calendars, captions, campaigns. Kickback Sips is the other half. It's how we take everything that usually lives online and bring it back into a real room, whether that's a private event or a weekend pop-up, one cup at a time.

We're not trying to be the biggest cart in the city. We're trying to be the one that remembers your name, asks how your event's going, and makes a corner of a lobby or a parking lot feel like your favourite local spot for twenty minutes.

A couple sitting across from each other at a small wooden table in a bright cafe, toasting with cups. The woman has a flower in her hair, and they are smiling. A large window with a view of a street and green plants outside is behind them, and a pendant light hangs above the table.

No matter where in the world Matt & Emily always find a way to enjoy coffee together!

Eco-Friendly Coffee Experiences, Served in Bamboo-Based Cups 🌿

At Kickback Sips, we believe sustainability should be built into every sip. That’s why we serve all our drinks in bamboo-based, compostable, and recyclable cups supplied by Soyle, a Canadian company leading the shift toward more eco-friendly event solutions. By choosing bamboo over plastic, we reduce single-use waste and make each coffee moment a little kinder to the planet.
